Good to know: plumbing, electrical and gas work is coordinated through licensed trades where required. Removing or altering a load-bearing wall may require an engineer's design and a building permit depending on the scope.

Kitchen renovation FAQs
Do you only do high-end kitchens?
No. Most of our kitchen work is practical, mid-size renovation — new or refinished cabinets, counters, backsplash and flooring — scoped to what the home and budget call for.
Should I replace or refinish my cabinets?
If the cabinet boxes are solid, square and the layout works, refinishing or refacing is often the better value. If boxes are water-damaged, sagging or the layout doesn't work, replacement makes more sense. We'll tell you which after seeing them.
How long will my kitchen be out of service?
It depends on the scope and material lead times. We order cabinets and counters before demolition wherever possible so the kitchen is out of use for as short a time as practical.
Can you remove a wall to open up the kitchen?
Often, yes. If the wall is load-bearing, an engineer's design and a building permit may be required before work starts. We'll identify that early rather than after the estimate.
Do you handle plumbing and electrical?
We coordinate licensed trades for plumbing, electrical and gas work where required. Samco does not present itself as a licensed plumbing or electrical contractor.
Is the estimate free?
Renovation and project estimate visits are complimentary. Diagnostic or troubleshooting service calls are $175 + HST, credited toward the repair if we carry out the work.
